Steve BurlisonPrincipal/Creative Director Steve co-founded Catalyst in 2006 after spending 15 years in the newspaper industry. He’s known as the idea guy tirelessly theorizing strategies, mixing new formulas and developing innovative solutions for our clients. His wealth of knowledge and experience translates visual elements of design into emotional connections with the human element. It’s by this trademark that Catalyst is able to break our client’s marketing communications away from the advertising clutter and produce a measurable return on their investment.
During his time at The State (newspaper) Steve marketed their brand, which was highlighted in 2004 when he won more first place International Newspaper Marketing Association awards than any other U.S. newspaper and finished second in the World. To supplement newsroom strategies to improve readership among women he co-developed a women’s expo event to host relationships with more than 6,000 attendees. And with decreasing penetration among Millennials he created an extension of the newspaper’s entertainment print product — ColumbiaTunes.com.
